The aRing app · free · iPhone and Android
Clear answers, not more charts.
The app reads your ring overnight and greets you with three things: how you slept, how recovered you are, and how active you've been.
Today
One health score from 0 to 100, with a short line on what's driving it.
Sleep
Your night as a stage chart, with deep sleep, REM and time awake.
Trends
Week, month and six-month views for sleep, steps, heart rate and HRV.
Built to be private.
Your readings stay on your phone. There's no account to create, no adverts and no tracking. Export your own data whenever you like.
- Ask aRing: type a question like "How did I sleep this week?"
- Bedtime reminders and your own goals for steps, calories and sleep
- Find my ring, measure now and one-tap sync
- Export all your data as a spreadsheet

aRing Privacy Policy
The short version
Your aRing health data stays on your phone. We do not collect it, we do not see it, and we never sell or share it.
This policy explains how the aRing app for iPhone and Android ("the app") handles your information. The app is provided by [Company name], registered in England and Wales (company number [number]), [registered address] ("aRing", "we", "us"). For anything about privacy, email contact@aring.health.
What information the app uses
| Type | What it includes | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Ring readings | Steps, distance, calories, active time, sleep (stages, bedtime, wake time), heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen, skin temperature, stress, workouts | Your aRing, over Bluetooth |
| Ring details | Battery level, firmware version, the ring's Bluetooth identifier | Your aRing, over Bluetooth |
| Details you enter | First name, age, height, weight, sex (optional), goals, bedtime reminder time | You, in the app |
| Questions to Ask aRing | The questions you type | You, in the app (answered on your phone) |
Heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen, temperature, stress and sleep are health information, which UK law treats as special category data. That is why none of it leaves your phone unless you choose to send it.
Where it is stored, and what we don't do
Everything is stored in the app's private storage on your phone. It is not sent to aRing, to the ring's manufacturer or to anyone else. The app does not:
- ask you to create an account or sign in
- send your data to our servers (the app has no servers)
- show adverts or use advertising identifiers
- use analytics, tracking or crash-reporting tools that collect your data
- sell, rent or share your information with anyone
Your phone's own backup (iCloud or Google backup) may include the app's data if you have backup turned on. That backup is controlled by Apple or Google under their privacy terms.
Phone permissions
- Bluetooth (iPhone) / Nearby devices (Android): to find, connect to and sync with your aRing. Not used to work out where you are.
- Location (Android 11 and earlier only): those versions of Android require it before any Bluetooth scan. The app never reads or stores your location.
- Notifications (iPhone): for the bedtime reminder you set. Optional.
Sharing and exporting
Your data only leaves the app when you choose to send it, for example with Export my data, which opens your phone's share menu. A future version may offer to share selected readings with Apple Health or Health Connect, only if you turn it on.
Wellness, not medical advice
aRing is a wellness product, not a medical device. Its readings, scores and insights are for general fitness and wellbeing and are not medical advice.
How long it is kept, and how to delete it
The app keeps up to two years of daily history on your phone. Delete everything at any time by deleting the app, or on Android via Settings › Apps › aRing › Storage › Clear data.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have rights to access, correct and delete your personal information. Because your aRing data stays on your phone, you can do all of these yourself. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
aRing is not designed for children under 13.
Changes
If we change how the app handles information, for example by adding online accounts or community features, we will update this policy before those features go live.
